Swimming season came to a close last weekend as 19 area athletes — 10 from Park Hill South and nine from Park Hill — competed in the 77th annual boys swimming and diving championships at the Rec-Plex in St. Peters. Rockhurst won the state swimming title, posting 220 points, which was 57 points better than second place Blue Springs South. • PARK HILL finished 11th at the state meet, scoring 92 points. Marcin Glebocki medaled in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle. Glebocki took second in the 50 free and third in the 100 free. Barry Chang took ninth in the 100-yard butterfly and 13th in the 200-yard individual medley. Jered Weger and Evan Donnelly finished 11th and 15th, respectively, in the 500-yard freestyle. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Chang, Danny Jones, Emiliano Alvarez and Glebocki took sixth and the 400-yard freestyle relay team, consisting of Chang, Jones, Will Hemphill and Glebocki, finished 11th • PARK HILL SOUTH took 12th overall with 77 points. Travis Colpitts medaled for the Panthers, taking seventh in the 100-yard butterfly. Luke Lanning also took 14th in the 200-yard individual medley. The 200-yard medley relay team of Ben Milburn, Lanning, Colpitts and Chase Riekhof took seventh while the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Lanning, Colpitts, Tyler Dunn and Riekhof also took seventh. The 400-yard freestyle relay team, consisting of Riekhof, Lanning, Colpitts and Dunn, finished 13th to round out the Panthers’ scorers.
