Hillside Opening Possibilities for Everyone (HOPE.wrx), Kansas City, is partnering with Living Water Christian Church in Parkville to expand hours of operation at the HOPE.wrx Food Pantry in the Northland.Volunteers from Living Water’s congregation have agreed to staff the food pantry from 5-7 p.m. Mondays, meaning the Food Pantry will be open five days a week during the summer. “Thanks to our friends at Living Water Christian Church, visitors will have another opportunity to drop in to the Food Pantry for staples,” said Judy Kelly, HOPE.wrx executive director. “So many of our visitors have jobs and are unable to come to the Pantry during the day. Our goal is to assist the high number of the working poor who need to shop in the evenings.” The Food Pantry, located at 900 N.E. Vivion Rd., in the southwest corner of the Hillside Christian Church building, is open from 5-7 p.m. Mondays; 3-5 p.m. Tuesdays; 5-7 p.m. Wednesdays; 1-3 p.m. Thursdays; and 9-11 a.m. Saturdays. HOPE.wrx is an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit serving Clay and Platte Counties in Missouri with a Food Pantry, Family Back Pack program, and a Sundries Closet. The Food Pantry serves an average of 800 people each month with food staples, personal care items and household maintenance products. During the school year, the Family Back Pack program supplied children attending eight schools in the Northland with weekend meals for their entire family. Judy Kelly serves as executive director of the organization. For more information, visit hopewrx.org.
