Winebrenner, Jackson make 2nd-team all-state soccer team

Park Hill and Park Hill South girls soccer teams were both district runners-up this past season, and both were represented well on the Class 3 Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association all-state teams, recently released.Freshman defender Jenna Winebrenner earned second team honors for Park Hill after scoring eight goals to go with three assists on a defense that yielded 18 total goals in a 21-6 season that ended with an overtime loss to Liberty in the Class 3 District 16 championship game. Senior goalkeeper Claudia Fonseca, who recorded 17 shutouts and a 0.63 goals against average in 27 starts, netted honorable mention honors. A trio of high-scoring players for South also made the list. Panthers junior forward Shay Jackson joined Winebrenner on the second team with a team-high 23 goals and nine assists. Senior forward Ashton Anderson (17 goals, three assists) and junior midfielder Anna Courtney (14 goals, team-high 11 assists) were both honorable mention. Park Hill South finished 12-11-1 with a loss St. Teresa’s Academy in the District 15 title game.
