A Riverside man was convicted of sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl following a Platte County jury trial, which concluded last week.Fentress Maurice Wilson, 50, received a sentence of life in prison after being found guilty of statutory sodomy. He faces life because prosecutors employed a seldom-used provision of Missouri law to prove he was a predatory sexual offender. “This defendant’s victims will live with the effects of his abuse for the rest of their lives,” Platte County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Zahnd said. “This verdict ensures that the defendant will also face the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life.”
