North Platte swept its five matches to win the KCI Conference Tournament on Sept. 6 at Penney High School in Hamilton, Mo. The Panthers dropped just one a set on the way to the championship.
During the tournament, North Platte coach Scott McInnis picked up win No. 100 at the school. The Panthers defeated Mid-Buchanan 2-1 in the championship. Katie Heese led the offensive attack against the Dragons with 14 kills, and Emmie Lee added 10 in the 26-24, 23-25, 25-17 victory. Setter Katelin Dillee tallied 42 assists. Maddie Lee added 14 digs with Baylie Wilson chipping in 13. Emmie Lee finished the tournament with 37 kills followed by Heese at 36. Dillee totaled 113 assists. The 5 wins put the Panthers at 8-0 to start the season. West Platte finished third, including a two-set loss to North Platte. Platte County 2, Winnetonka 0 The Pirates picked up a straight-set victory against the visiting Griffins on Sept. 4 at Platte County High School. The 25-14, 25-9 win improved Platte County to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Suburban League Blue Division. Platte County setter Mickey Trimble totaled seven assists to go with three aces. Melissa Ditter added eight kills, and Maggie Palmer led the Pirates with nine digs. Park Hill 2, Liberty North 0 The Trojans earned their first win of the season Sept. 8 at Park Hill High School in Kansas City, Mo. by a score of 25-16, 25-18.
