A Kansas City man claimed the first of three $250,000 top prizes in the Missouri Lottery’s “Season’s Greetings” Scratchers game, and he bought the ticket at Platte City’s Casey’s General Store. Jeremie Callaway, 40, purchased the winning ticket Dec. 8. He scratched the ticket in the store’s parking lot but found it hard to reconcile what he won with the $10 purchase.
“I said, ‘Uh oh. That can’t be right,’” he told Missouri Lottery officials.
Callaway said he “shook all the way to work” that day and began looking forward to paying down bills with his pre-holiday win.
To date, “Season’s Greetings” features more than $5 million in available prizes, including two additional prizes of $250,000. Remaining prizes for this game, and all other Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets, can be tracked at MOLottery.com.
In addition, all non-winning holiday-themed Scratchers tickets are eligible for entry in the “Hollywood Holiday” second-chance promotion, in which players can win one of four trips of a lifetime. Options include: a trip to Los Angeles to see a Hollywood movie premiere, a trip to attend a private celebrity Oscar viewing party, a trip to watch the Grammys live or a trip to LA to experience “Dancing with the Stars.”
The Missouri Lottery reminds players not to give tickets as gifts for children under 18 years old.
