Platte County finished second out of four teams Tuesday, Sept. 1 at a quadrangular meet in Lee’s Summit, Mo., despite not winning an event. The meet included Platte County, Lee’s Summit, Kearney and Raymore-Peculiar. John Cogdill placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:57.10) to lead the Pirates, while Justin Richardson took second in diving. Richardson recently became the program’s first state qualifier in the event and first individual qualifier overall since 2009.
Park Hill and Park Hill South cancelled their meets last week while dealing with the effects of a Cryptosporidium outbreak at the Park Hill District Aquatic Center.
