Sam Paulak made it 2-for-3 in tournaments this season with a narrow win Thursday, Sept. 3. In the St. Joseph Central Invitational, the Park Hill junior fired an 8-over 80 to top Liberty’s Briana Walker by just one stroke at Moila Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo. Paulak also won the Liberty North Invitational earlier in the week.
Park Hill placed third in the 15-team field behind Paulak, totaling a 387 — just four back of Staley for second place.
Platte County finished with a pair of medalists and placed eighth in the team standings. Jessalyn Shipp tied for 10th at 12-over 94, while Kasydie Shipp tied for 12th in the final medal spots at 15-over 97. Kasydie Shipp did enough in the scorecard playoff to grab her medal with two players at 97 left out.
“The team is getting better and we are improving our individual and team score every time we play,” Platte County coach Trevor Short said. “Moila is a very old golf course with mature trees and tight fairways and the girls handled it very well.”
Park Hill’s Kelbey Emerson just missed a shot at a medal with a 16-over 98.

Kortney Rogers and couldn’t keep up with the visitors Wednesday, Sept. 2 at Shiloh Springs Golf Course in Platte City. Jessalyn and Kasydie Shipp led Platte County with matching 14-over 51s.

Pembroke Hill’s Shannon Fong took medalist honors in the quad meet held on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at The Deuce at The National Golf Club in Parkville, Mo. Park Hill South’s Miranda Steczak carded a 41 and Paulak came in with 42 strokes for the top local finishes.
