The Missouri State Swimming & Diving Championships will commence on Thursday, Nov. 14 at the St. Peters Rec Plex in St. Peters, Mo.
The Class 1 portion of the meet will be held Thursday and Friday, Nov. 15, while the Class 2 finals start on Friday and concludes on Saturday, Nov. 16. Competition starts at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday and resumes at 5 p.m. for the diving finals that night. Friday’s schedule starts at 10 a.m. for Class 1 and at 4:45 p.m. for Class 2. The finals on Saturday starts at 9 a.m. with diving and 3 p.m. for swimming.
Park Hill South and Platte County are in Class 1, while Park Hill is in Class 2. South will be sending an area-high 12 swimmers to state and put them in position for a state trophy for the fourth time in program history. The Panthers were fourth in 2006, 2008 and 2014. All of those came during the former one class model.
Platte County will have 11 competing and are vying for its first trophy in program history.
Ryan Dye, Rhett Spell, Joe Ragone and Baxter Stone will each have two individual event for the Pirates.
Platte County and Park hill South will also have three relay teams competing.
Individuals for South in multiple events are: Alec Enyeart, Derek Long, Zander Livingston, Chris Wissman, Finn Hefferren, Ethan Roach and Fletcher Burns.
Enyeart is seeded second in the 500 freestyle and third in the 200 freestyle. Roach is seeded third in both of his individual events.
The Panthers have four of the 32 competitors in the freestyle.
Livingston and Stone are both seeded in the top eight in the 100 breaststroke.
Park Hill’s Alex Dunlevy (seeded sixth in the 200 freestyle), Jake Fickensher, Sam Brooks and Eli Stammler will all have two individual events.
The Trojans also have all three relays at state.
Greyson Langer (Park Hill South) and Aden Roberson (Park Hill) are the divers at state.
The Trojans were seventh in Class 2 last year, while Park Hill South was seventh in Class 1. Platte County took 16th place.
