Arrest made in Platte City shooting

An arrest has been made and charges filed in the shooting that occurred at a fast food establishment in Platte City last week.

According to Platte City Chief of Police Joe Wellington, the Kansas City Metro Squad investigated more than 70 leads in the shooting, which occurred at around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 in the parking lot at the Wendy’s located at 1400 Platte Falls Road.

The homicide victim was identified as Kareem Z. Hassan, an 18-year-old resident of Kansas City. Another unidentified person was also shot and remains in critical condition. 

On Tuesday, Nov. 21, Platte City Police announced an arrest had been made. Terrion M. Gully-Henry, 22, has been charged with attempting to deliver a controlled substance and is currently in custody. The case will be presented to the Platte County Prosecutor’s Office for review and for determination if further charges will be filed.
