The Park Hill South girls’ golf team had three individuals competing in the Class 4 State Tournament on Oct. 18 and 19.
The Park Hill South duo of Makenna Casy and Abigial Ervin were tied in 28th place after the first round on Oct. 18. The Panthers both ended with 86 strokes on the opening day of the state tournament.
When the second day concluded, Casey was the top-finisher for the Panthers as she closed out the back nine holes in 86 strokes. Casey ended with 169 total strokes, earning her 26th place overall in the largest class in Missouri.
In Ervin’s third consecutive season competing at the state tournament, the Panther finished in 47th place overall. Ervin ended with 179 strokes as she shot a 93 on the second day of the tournament.
Sara Montalbano opened the tournament with 93 strokes and sat in a four-way tie for 56th place entering the second round. Montalbano improved in the back nine when she shot an 89, ending with 179 total, and finished in 53rd place.
Ervin and Montalbano both had state experience before they stepped onto the Meadow Lake Acres Country Club Golf Course on Oct. 18. Ervin qualified for state each of the last two seasons prior to 2021 and Montalbano made her first appearance in 2020.
