A new grassroots group has formed to address concerns about development in Parkville.
According to a statement issued Monday, Oct. 1, Citizens for a Better Parkville was formed via submission to the Missouri Ethics Commission as a continuing political action committee. The group has a website at abetterparkville.com, which lists its priorities as holding elected officials — namely the Parkville mayor and board of aldermen — accountable and organizing opposition to the proposed developments currently under review by the Parkville planning and zoning commission for the intersection of Interstate 435 and Highway 45.
At the September meeting of that commission, discussions were halted after more than three hours of presentations and testimony. The commission will take up the rest of the agenda at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9.
