The Park Hill football team (1-4) has now lost its last four games, most recently falling to Liberty North (5-0) in a one-sided contest on September 23.
The Trojans were behind in all but 55 seconds as they gave up a touchdown in the opening minute and trailed by a large deficit early on. The Eagles erupted for 34 points in the first quarter – while taking a 41-0 lead at the break – and won 44-14.
Liberty North scored four touchdowns in the first 6:56 and converted on three of the four point after touchdown attempts. Eagles’ quarterback Sam Van Dyne tossed his second of three touchdowns on the final play of the first quarter from 64 yards away.
Liberty North added to the scoreboard with a 6-yard pass with 2:03 left in the second quarter. This was the first time all season that Park Hill entered the locker room without a point.
Park Hill senior Kendrick Bell made sure to keep the Trojans from getting shut out, running and passing for a pair of second half scores. With 5:50 on the clock in the third quarter, the quarterback scrambled into the end zone from 34 yards out.
Liberty North opened the fourth quarter with a 22-yard field goal and the Trojans eventually found the end zone again with 4:54 to play. Bell connected with Bryce Lisaka for 23 yards and Scotty Robertson converted on his second point after touchdown kick.
The Eagles’ offense exploded for 462 yards – 244 yards on the ground and 218 yards through the air – and the Trojans ended with 200 total yards of offense. Bell threw for 112 yards and ran for 68 yards.
Liberty North has now won the last four meetings in the series, outscoring the Trojans 131-34. Park Hill will look to move past the loss when it takes on Park Hill South (2-3) on September 30 for the first regular season matchup between the rival schools since 2017.
