A Kansas City, Kan. woman died after she was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 435 last week.
“Crashes like these are a tragedy for all involved, their families and their communities especially around the holidays,” said Sheriff Mark Owen.
On Friday, Dec. 22, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Platte County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a vehicle crash on the northbound lanes of I-435 near the 22-mile marker.

The driver of the white Toyota Corolla, a 56-year-old female from Kansas City, Kan., remained at the scene of the original accident.
The Kansas City, Kan. woman, whose name had not been released as of press time, was standing outside of her vehicle when a white 2008 Ford F-350 traveling northbound on I-435 struck both the 56-year-old female and her white Toyota Corolla.
