In the Class 5 State Golf Championship, Park Hill junior Baker Fredal impressed with a 42nd place finish on May 17.
The golf match lasted two days, with 18 holes being played on each. Fredal tied with two other golfers – Kickapoo’s Caleb Wiggins and Battle’s Graham Hoffman – with 162 strokes as the Trojan shot an 87 on day one and 75 on day two.
Park Hill South had three golfers compete at the state meet, all of which finished close to one another. Evan Jones was the best Panther over the course of the two days when he was in a four-way tie for 58th place with 166 strokes. Jones had 84 strokes on the first day and 82 strokes on the second day.
Keegan Feder was one stroke behind his teammate to end in a three-way tie for 62nd place. Jack McNearney capped off the tournament with 85 strokes on the first day, following 86 strokes on the second day, good for 171 total strokes in 69th place.
In Class 4, Parker Amos tied for 54th place. The Pirate ended with 169 strokes when shot an 83 on day one and 86 on day two.
