Kansas City based developer VanTrust Real Estate has announced the recent ground breaking for its 2.36-million-square-feet of distribution center space at Platte International Commerce Center, located in Platte City.
The three “Class A” distribution buildings are located in one of the supply chain and logistics distribution hotspots in the United States, with the ability to reach 85 percent of the U.S. in two days or less. The buildings will be available for leasing to tenants, with specific spacing availability from 50,000 to 1.3 million square feet. The first speculative building will span 748,833 square feet, and is expected to be shell complete by May 2024.
JLL’s Phillip Algrim, executive vice president, and Kevin Wilkerson, managing director, are leading the leasing assignment for VanTrust.
“The Kansas City metro area continues to standout as one of the best locations in the U.S. for supply chain and logistics optimization,” Algrim said in a recent release. “The Platte International Commerce Center is located in the Northland submarket of the Kansas City metro area adjacent to a new world class airport and transportation infrastructure. It is poised to attract a wide variety of tenants due to the new KCI terminal and the quality Northland labor pool. We look forward to welcoming tenants.”
In addition to an optimal location in the Kansas City metro with immediate access to I-29 and I-435, the distribution center is ideally located nationally. Kansas City is regarded as a top location for ecommerce companies with the ability to reach most of the U.S. in two days or less, and the location provides access to the following major freight distribution markets within 12 hours: Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, Louisville, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Omaha and St. Louis.
“We designed Platte International Commerce Center to be an outstanding distribution center for companies seeking a state-of-the-art property situated with close proximity to an international airport and with access to the nation’s major freight distribution markets,” said Grant Harrison, VanTrust Senior Director of Development. “With JLL’s partnership, we look forward to realizing this vision and helping grow Kansas City metro economies and helping our tenants succeed.”
