Police are investigating the shooting death of a woman, whose body was discovered on Interstate 29 in southern Platte County over the weekend.
The death of 23-year-old Christina L. Cunningham of Kansas City, Mo. is under investigation as an apparent homicide. Around 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, a Missouri Highway Patrol trooper investigated a vehicle stopped on I-29 at Northwest 56th Street, near Houston Lake, Mo. The vehicle, which was pulled over to the side of the south entrance ramp to the interstate, was abandoned.
After some investigation, the trooper located Cunningham lying in a nearby ditch. According to reports, she was shot. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.
As of press time, other details of the incident have not been released.
