KC man accused of sexual misconduct

A Kansas City man faces two felony counts after allegedly drugging and raping two teenage girls in March.

Jerry Hinshaw

Jerry Hinshaw, 50, faces one count of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of endangering the safety of a minor after an incident on March 15.

According to court documents, Hinshaw picked up the 13-year-old daughter of a woman he used to live with, knowing he did not have her mother’s permission to take the girl on March 15. He later went and picked up a 15-year-old girl from a Riverside home that evening. Hinshaw then gave both girls Abilify thinking they may want to get high and raped them according to the probable cause statement.

The case came to light after Riverside Police Officers found the 13-year-old at the 15-year-old’s residence as a reported runaway. When she was picked up by her mother the 13-year-old told her mother what happened and she reported it to the police.

Hinshaw remains in custody on $100,000 cash-only bond. A bond-reduction hearing is set for May 15.
