Lady Panthers clinch the No. 1 seed in districts

North Platte senior Josie Roach, above, has helped lead the Panthers to the No. 1 seed in districts.

For the first time since 2016, the North Platte girls’ basketball team (17-5) has earned the No. 1 spot in districts.

The Panthers have had a solid season so far and have recently locked the top-seed in the Class 2 District 15 Tournament. The postseason tournament is at Gallatin High School and North Platte has received a first-round bye and will play the winner of No. 4 Plattsburg (9-10) or No. 5 Maysville (8-11) - both of which are teams who have lost to North Platte this season - on Feb. 22.

The Panthers are in a good position to win their first district title since the 2018-19 season as they have a 7-1 record against district opponents this year. Their only loss was early in the season against West Platte (9-10) in the KCI Tournament on Dec. 6.
