Kennedy Townsend, Marqueas Bell and Jarett Mueller stuck out all season long on the basketball court and have all earned All-State honors.
Townsend is now a three-time all-state player for the Park Hill girls’ basketball team and has also been nominated to the MO-KS All-Star Game. Townsend was also selected as the shooting guard in the first ever All-Metro First Team after averaging 21.6 points per game on 47 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent shooting from downtown.
The Park Hill girls’ basketball team also had a couple more players with recent postseason recognition. Darcy Cato earned Academic All-State and Amaya Blake will join Townsend in the MO-KS All-Star Game.
Bell is also a Class 6 All-State selection after the junior scored 19.7 points per game and made 39 percent of his 3-pointers. The junior led the Park Hill boys’ basketball team to a 16-10 season.
Mueller was a Class 5 All-State selection after scoring 18 points per game and knocking down 36.8 percent of his shots from deep for the Platte County boys’ basketball team. Mueller was also selected to the GKCBCA All-Star Game.
For the Platte County girls’ basketball team, three players made the Kansas City Suburban Conference Blue Division: Joslyn Hupp, Amairia Peterson and Kiersten Robbins. Hupp was selected to the second team, while Robbins and Peterson were both honorable mentions.
