Mitchell leads Lady Pirates at Ray-Pec

The Platte County girls’ cross-country team relied on some underclassmen as sophomore Sisely Mitchell was the top Pirate finisher on Sept. 11.

Platte County ended in 13th place and Mitchell ended in tenth place overall against other Class 4 and Class 5 schools at the Raymore-Peculiar course. The sophomore ended with a time of 20:21.

Junior Sloan Kassen was the next Pirate to end the race as she finished in 57th place with a time of 22:49. Freshman Lilliana Kytasaari was four runners behind the junior as her final time was 22:59.

The sophomore duo of Amelia Kidd and Alex Beeman was the Pirates’ fourth and fifth place finishers. Kidd ended at 24:19 and Beeman finished with a time of 24:26.
