Nebraska man injured in Platte County accident

A Nebraska truck driver was injured in an accident in Platte County on Thursday, Feb. 28.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Trevor W. Rumsey, 33, of Talmage, Neb., was driving southbound on Interstate 435, south of the NW Tiffany Park Road, when the accident occurred at 5 a.m.

Rumsey's tractor-trailer rig traveled off the right side of the roadway and it struck a ditch. Rumsey overcorrected and the vehicle overturned.

Rumsey sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to North Kansas City Hospital.

MSHP arrests in Platte County

Fabeik J. Maker, 23, Kansas City, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, speeding and failure to register a vehicle on Feb. 26.

Tyler E. Beck, 24, Parkville, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a lane violation, a warrant from Independence (Mo.), a warrant from Polk (Mo.) County.

Athena M. Daugherty, 31, Kansas City, was arrested for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a warrant from Riverside and a warrant from Cooper (Mo.) County on Feb. 25.

Emily A. Nelles, 47, of Kansas City, was arrested on Feb. 26 on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

John F. Weddle, 57, of St. Joseph, was arrested on March 4 for felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
