There will be a new place to park offsite near the Kansas City International Airport.
Park ‘N Go, based in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., will construct a vehicle parking facility located at N. Ambassador Avenue and NW Cookingham Drive — between Interstate 29/Interstate 435.
The project will be the ninth for the company, which has other locations in Baltimore, Charlotte, Ft. Lauderdale, Minneapolis, Omaha (two), Richmond, Va. and Orlando.
There will one structure — a maximum of 1,000 sq. foot — located near the front entry. That building will serve as the office, while having a vending area and restrooms.
There will be a 36 foot wide driveway with six gated lanes. The two outer lanes will be for the company’s buses which will transport customers to and from KCI. There will be 2,625 spaces, which will be fenced with a six foot black steel fence.
A monument sign will be located near the N. Ambassador Drive entry. The property will be on a 40 acre site.
The company has a frequent parker program that gives customer one ‘point’ per day and every 10 days or 10 points, customers get a free day of parking.
The company was started in 1977 and provides complimentary jump starts/tire assistance as well as free bottled water and newspapers at select locations while supplies last.
Other projects
The final plat for The Retreat at Green Hills, located at the northeast corner of NW Tiffany Springs Road and NW Old Stagecoach Road, will create 28 single-family homes on 13.815 acres and will have two tracts for the purpose of private open space. Pine Valley Development was the applicant.
Approved a replat of 19.83 acres located east of NW Roanridge Drive and north of NW 79th Street to create seven lots for purpose of commercial development. The applicant was Edgewood Farms Partners, LLC.
Approved the third plat of Genesis Place, on 21.79 acres located at NW Tiffany Springs and NW Old Stagecoach Road, creating 53 single-family homes and four tracts for open space. Green Hills Investors LLC are behind the project.
