Lawson picked up a North Platte fumble and ran in for one of three more first half touchdowns for the Cardinals. The Panthers trailed 28-6 at the break.
With 10:09 remaining in the third quarter, Lawson blocked a punt attempt by North Platte and returned it for six Cardinal points. On the Panthers’ next offensive possession, Colton Kirkham’s pass was intercepted and Lawson scored on the play.
