Two injured in 2 accidents on I-29

An Omaha man was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Tuesday, April 16 in Platte County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Darrell Walters, 70, was driving southbound on Interstate 29 when an accident occurred at mile marker 24. The report shows that his 2013 Freightliner tractor-trailer rig traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned at 6:26 a.m.

He sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to North Kansas City Hospital.

One hurt in 2-vehicle accident

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a traffic cone played a factor in an accident on Wednesday, April 17 in Platte County.

The online report stated that Kimberly Mezil, 49, of Kansas City, Mo. was driving southbound on Interstate 29, at mile marker 9, when her 2009 Pontiac struck a traffic cone.

That caused her vehicle to slide into a 2016 Toyota driven by Janice Barbosa, 67, of Kansas City, Mo.

Mezil sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to St. Luke’s North in Kansas City.
