The Park Hill School District approved its amended plan for redistricting, creating a dedicate feeder system for each high school.
At the Thursday, Dec. 12 meeting of the Board of Education, Dr. Paul Kelly, redistricting advisory committee chair and assistant superintendent for business and technology, presented the final redistricting scenario to the board for approval.
At the Nov. 14, board meeting, the Redistricting Advisory Team shared a recommended district boundary map. Following a board request, the team reconvened on Dec. 3 to review alternative elementary-to-middle-school feeder configurations. During that meeting, the team evaluated the recommended map alongside two alternative configurations. Using the board’s criteria, team members reassessed the options to ensure they aligned with the district’s priorities. This evaluation led to an amended recommendation. The revised recommendation modifies the feeder system as follows:
Lakeview Middle School: English Landing, Graden and Union Chapel
Walden Middle School: Angeline Washington, Line Creek and Southeast
The board also approved grandfathering recommendations. For the 2025-2026 school year, fifth and eighth graders will be allowed to stay at their 2024-2025 school. Additionally, students currently in grades 6-12 attending a secondary school in the Park Hill South attendance area, who are redistricted to a school in the Park Hill High School attendance area, may remain at their current school in the Park Hill South attendance area through graduation.
The district will continue to communicate with families about the 2025-2026 school year. Every family will receive a letter in early January detailing their child’s school for next year and any applicable grandfathering.
