The Park Hill volleyball team (12-16-1) ended the fall with its least amount of wins since 2015, but that wasn’t before the Trojans won a district title and made a trip to the Class 5 State Sectionals.
For the fourth time in the last five seasons, Park Hill made an appearance in a district championship when the second seeded Trojans defeated top-seeded Platte County in five sets. Park Hill advanced to the Class 5 State Sectionals for the second straight season and ran into a red hot Liberty North team who only had three losses all year, and entered the match versus the Trojans with six straight victories.
Park Hill kept the first set competitive before falling by a score of 25-17. The next two sets weren’t as close as the Eagles won them both by double digits, completing the sweep.
The Trojans were unable to pull off the upset and were eliminated after winning the Class 5 District 16 Championship for the second year in a row. The Trojans only had one senior, 5’3 libero and defensive specialist Valencia Zamora.
The lone senior ended the sectional match with seven digs. Park Hill junior Shayne Koski finished with 12 kills and Devin Hoover added 11 digs.
