PARKVILLE – Dating back to 2022, the Park Hill girls’ soccer team (3-8) has struggled at the Park Hill District Soccer Stadium and has now won back-to-back games there.
Over the last three seasons, Park Hill posted a 5-15 home record until the recent success. The Lady Trojans turned over a new leaf with a 1-0 overtime win over Liberty (5-10) on April 11.
Park Hill came up short on the road against Staley (5-7), falling 2-0 on April 16. A majority of the Lady Trojans’ losses so far this season has been in shutout fashion.
St. Joseph’s Central came to town and Park Hill won its second straight home game on April 18. The Lady Trojans had a lot of chances early – owning the possession – but was only to score once, and that was enough to win.
The sole goal in the contest came in a wild sequence with 17:05 left in the first half by Alyssa Estanich. The sophomore had a good look from the right side and let it rip.
The ball went towards the goalkeeper, who caught it but twisted her body which caused the ball to cross the goal line. While the ball didn’t go into the back of the net, it was counted as a goal and ended up being the only score of the night.
Park Hill has five games left in the regular season before competing in the Class 4 District 8 Championship. Next up for the Lady Trojans is another matchup with Park Hill South (13-1) on April 25.
