The Park Hill South football team had nine players who were selected with honors in the Class 6 District 4 All-Tournament Team as multiple Panthers set new program records this fall.
In 2021, the Park Hill South offense set school records in total yards with 4,535 and total points with 384. There were four Panthers on the first team in the Class 6 District 4 Tournament, defensive lineman James Williams, offensive lineman Ethan Hellebusch, linebacker Roger Guillory and wideout Mudia Rueben.
Williams is now the Panther’s single season leader in sacks and tackles for loss with 18 sacks and 35 tackles for loss. Hellebusch was a three-year starter, Guillory broke the Park Hill South record for solo tackles in 2021 with 104, and Rueben had a record-breaking season with 48 catches for 1,002 yards and 14 scores.
Sophomore Mason Love was the final Panther to earn first team All-District as a punter. Love nearly averaged 40 yards on each punt and had 17 punts downed inside the 20-yard line.
Seniors Elano Alvarez, Nathan Ricco, Torrin Zeigler and Lucas Oitker all made the second team in districts. Alvarez finished with 112 tackles, two interceptions and 10 broken up passes this season as a defensive back.
In two years under center, Ricco threw for 3,122 passing yards and tied a Park Hill South record with 31 passing touchdowns. Zeigler was a three-year starter and ended his senior campaign by notching 70 tackles, six sacks, 27 tackles for loss and one blocked field goal.
