After recording a program record in wins this spring, the Park Hill South baseball team (20-14) nearly had its entire starting lineup on the Kansas City Suburban Conference Red Division Teams.
Five Panthers made the first team: Aidan Simpson, Luke Fricker, Trey Weith, Collin Morris and Dylan Graebener. Simpson was a utility player for Park Hill South, ending with 37 hits, 16 RBIs and a 0.311 batting average.
Fricker made the Red Division First Team as both an infielder and a pitcher after having a team best 2.28 ERA and 46 strikeouts – which was the second most on the team – in his senior campaign. Park Hill South’s catcher, Weith, helped lead the team to 20 wins, while having 165 putouts, 35 hits, 15 RBIs and a team-best 0.340 batting average.
Morris was a first-team selection as an outfielder as he led the Panthers with 20 RBIs, along with hitting 28 balls in 30 starts. The last Panther to crack the Red Division First Team was Graebener after the pitcher posted a 4-4 record as a starter en route to striking out a team-high 53 batters while posting a 3.25 ERA.
A.J. Rodriguez was an All-Conference Second Team Selection as an infielder as he posted 23 putouts and 38 assists. Hayden Klein erupted for 128 putouts on the season when the pitcher struck out 35 batters to earn a spot on the second team.
Evan Demint was a Red Division Honorable Mention, ending the season with 10 strikeouts and a team-best three saves on the mound in 10 games and had 19 hits and five RBIs.
