Despite a disappointing finish to the season, Park Hill South ended up with a Missouri Basketball Coaches Association all-state selection for the third consecutive year.

Lamel Robinson, a sophomore guard, made the Class 5 list after a second straight standout year. He led the Panthers on offense with 21.3 points per game to go with 3.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
The assists total ranked third.
A versatile scorer, Robinson led Park Hill South to a 19-7 finish and runner-up showing in the Suburban Conference Red Division. The Panthers were the No. 2 seed in Class 5 District 14 and lost to third-seeded North Kansas City in a minor upset during the semifinal round.
Park Hill South had advanced to the Class 5 playoffs in each of the previous two seasons.
Robinson started and ranked second in scoring for the Panthers as a freshman. He developed into the leading scorer this year and now definitively ranks as one of the best Kansas City players in the 2019 class. His season included a career-high 40 points in a 76-71 double overtime victory against Rock Bridge in the North Kansas City Invitational championship game.
