Park Hill zaps Lee's Summit North on senior night

Park Hill junior Marqueas Bell led the Trojans to a 75-42 victory over Lee’s Summit North when he poured out 24 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one steal.

The Trojan boys’ basketball team (7-4) showed out and took care of business on senior night, taking down Lee’s Summit North (3-8) 75-42 on Jan. 7.

Park Hill has four seniors who were honored: Jake Powell, Ryan Dodson, Sammy Hall and Luke Renton. Hall had the most impressive stat line among seniors when the point guard finished with six points, four rebounds, seven assists and four steals.

The remaining threes seniors combined for nine points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and three steals. The Trojans set the tone early leading 19-7 after the opening frame and held Lee’s Summit North to 15 first half points when the Broncos trailed by 22 points.

Park Hill extended its lead to 66-30 in the third quarter and sailed to a 33-point victory. Marqueas Bell led the Trojans’ offense with 24 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one steal, while Kendrick Bell added 19 points, five rebounds and two steals.

The Trojans knocked down 10 of their 18 shot attempts from downtown with Gavin Schaag and Hall sinking a pair. Park Hill will host Blue Valley Northwest (5-1) on Jan. 15 at 5:30 p.m.
