Parkville’s current Ward 4 alderman Allyson Berberich announced she plans to run for the First District seat on the Platte County Commission in a press release issued last week.
In the release, Berberich bills herself as a dedicated community leader, and officially announced her candidacy for Platte County Commissioner, District 1.

“With a passion for enhancing the quality of life for all residents, Berberich brings a wealth of experience, a commitment to fiscal responsibility, and a vision for a prosperous and vibrant future for Platte County,” the release states.
Berberich is running to fill the seat currently held by Commissioner Dagmar Wood who is not seeking reelection.
As a 16-year resident of Platte County, Allyson Berberich has been involved in various organizations, committees, and initiatives.
The release states that her dedication to serving others and her understanding of the unique needs of the community have driven her decision to step forward and seek the role of county commissioner.
“I am excited to announce my candidacy for Platte County Commissioner, District 1,” Berberich said in the release. “I have witnessed firsthand the incredible potential of our community, and I am committed to ensuring that Platte County thrives in the years to come.”
Berberich’s top priorities will be responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars; working collaboratively with local law enforcement to provide them with the support and resources they need; and advocating for policies that promote economic development, attract investment, and create opportunities for small businesses to thrive in Platte County.
Berberich resides in Parkville with her husband and two teenage daughters. She is successfully self-employed and serves as an alderwoman for the City of Parkville.
