The City of Parkville’s biggest annual festival will the this weekend in the historic downtown and neighboring English Landing Park.
Parkville days runs from Friday, Aug. 19 to Sunday, Aug. 20. Admission is free, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to help facilitate a relaxing trip. There will be a daily carnival, arts and crafts, family entertainment, live music, food and a beer garden.
No outside alcoholic beverages are permitted at the festival.
Free parking will be available at Park University and Platte Landing Park. Handicap parking will be in the BankLiberty parking lot downtown.
The annual parade will begin at 10 a.m. with the route starting at Highway 9 and 63rd Street and proceeding downtown. It will conclude on Main Street.
The carnival will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday night with a wristband special for $25. On Saturday, the carnival opens at 11 a.m. following the parade and will again run until 10 p.m.
The final days of activities includes a 5k/10k River Run at 7 a.m. with the carnival running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
