A Platte City man was injured in an accident on Interstate 29 on July 29.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Stephen W. Swatek, 68, was driving in the northbound lane of I-29 when his 2013 Lexus was struck by flying debris from the median. That debris came from an unknown vehicle that hit the median and left the scene.

Swatek had minor injuries and was going to seek his own medical treatment.

MSHP arrests

Brandi E. McManis, 46, of Kansas City, was arrested in Plate County on July 28 for leaving the scene of an accident, careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash, failure to display valid plates and driving without insurance.

Dionte L. Townsell, 23, of Kansas City, was arrested in Platte County on Aug. 1 for driving while revoked and a registration violation.

Charles T. Frahm, 61, of Parkville, was arrested for boating while intoxicated and a ski flag violation in Clay County on Aug. 3.
