The Platte County archery team competed in the NASP Eastern Nationals tournament in Louisville, Kentucky at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
The tournament was held from May 9-11 where students from Compass Elementary, Platte City Middle School and Platte County High school competed. Compass Elementary resulted in ranking 23rd as a team with a score of 3096. Platte City Middle School rounded out 80th with a score of 3213. Platte County High school finished 141st with 3247. These schools also competed in the International Bowhunting Organization 3D challenges. Compass Elementary finished in 14th with a score of 1532, Platte City Middle School in 38th scoring 1594 and Platte County High School in 59th with 1636.
Evelyn Reith from Compass Elementary ranked 11th in the elementary girls with a score of 283, with a total of 16 bullseyes. She also rounded out her 3D challenge in 25th a score of 264.
Platte County High School’s Christian Yocklin placed 12th out of 816 ninth grade boys with a score of 291, with a count of 22 bullseyes. He ended ranked at 57th of all high school boys. In the 3D challenge, Yocklin ranked 51st overall out of 325 ninth grade boys with a score of 277 with 14 10s in this round.
In the 3D challenge, Autumn Colstion from PCHS ranked 22nd overall of 10th grade girls with a score of 279 and 19 10s.
The Platte County archery team went to Louisville, Ky., earlier this month to compete in the NASP Eastern Nationals. Archers from Compass Elementary, Platte County High School, Platte County Middle School all took part in the event.
