The Platte County Bass Fishing Club took part in a National Youth Fishing Association/Teen Anglers tournament at the Lake of the Ozarks this past weekend.
Logan Stackhouse (eighth grader) and Wes Valentine (senior), who won the ‘Big Bass’ award after catching a 6.03 pounder, the largest fish caught by the 554 anglers competing.
Each won a gift card from Bass Pro Shop for the accomplishment. There were three other Platte County teams competing at the event.
Colby Guffey (freshman) teamed up with Jared Parsons (eighth grade), while Garrett Watson (sophomore) and Peyton Stone (junior) fished together and Chauns Asby (sophomore) and Austin Vanek (eighth grade) rounded out the Pirates competing in the event.
The next event is April 14 at Truman Lake.
