In the fall of 2004, he began his teaching career as a seventh grade world history teacher at Platte City Middle School, and has remained there. He began his coaching career as an assistant wrestling coach for Mid-Buchanan high school in 2003, and has extensive experience coaching football, wrestling, and track and field; serving as assistant Platte County High School football coach from 2004-2016 (he played football at Northwest), assistant PCHS wrestling coach from 2004 to present, assistant track coach from 2004-2009 and head track coach from 2010 to present.  “Jack is currently a kindergartner at Siegrist Elementary, and Gus and Lane can’t wait to be Pirates one day,” Middleton said in a press release. “I’m honored, humbled and more than excited to serve Platte County’s coaches, sponsors, students, parents and community members as the new activities director.”
