Platte County’s small but talented senior class ended up producing a Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association all-state selection.

Tori Farr, a four-year starter, made the Class 3 second team as an infielder after a standout season for the Pirates. She recently signed to continue her career at William Jewell where she will likely move from the infield to outfield.

In her best statistical season, Farr hit .500 with eight extra-base hits (one home run), 33 runs, 21 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. She topped Platte County’s lineup in hits (39), singles (31), batting average (.500) and on-base percentage (.545), while also leading the defense in her second season as the starting shortstop.

Farr started her career at second base and helped take the Pirates to the Class 3 state championship game as a sophomore. Thhey went 25-7 and finished as state runner-up after a 4-0 loss to DeSoto.

Each of the past two seasons, the Pirates reached the Class 3 District 15 title game before losing to Smithville. They were 15-12 this season with Farr, catcher Anna Townsend and second baseman Lauren Magee the lone seniors.
