Revenge scheme lands Parkville man in trouble

A Parkville man is facing a felony charge after creating a pornographic revenge web site and distributing fliers in the victim’s neighborhood.

Andrew Snyder, 40, is charged with non-consensual dissemination of private images with the intent to harass the victim. Snyder is due back in court Tuesday, Jan. 15 and in addition to this charge faces several traffic-related charges and a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace. The victim has also filed an order of protection against him.

According to court documents, the Platte County Sheriff’s Office was notified on Saturday, Sept. 15 that fliers displaying a website address and stating “I’ll do what your wife won’t” along with a per-hour rate and the personal contact information of the victim — including her full name, home address, license plate number and more — were being distributed in her neighborhood. The victim’s husband’s personal information was also on the flier. Additionally, banners with the website address were placed at the entrance of the subdivision.

The victim said during a separation from her husband she had briefly dated Snyder. When she reconciled with her husband, Snyder became vengeful and threatened to ruin her life, she said. The website contained nude images of the victim, photos which the victim said had been taken by a professional photographer and were stored on a disk. When the website appeared, the victim realized the disk had been stolen.

A subpoena of the web hosting provider showed the site had been created by Snyder in early September.

Since the initial report, six additional reports have been taken by the Sheriff’s Office, according to the statement of probable cause. The fliers were also distributed in the victim’s mother’s neighborhood in Kansas City and at the victim’s husband’s workplace in Lenexa, Kan. A co-worker of the husband was able to identify Snyder as the source of the fliers that were handed out in the parking lot.
