According to court documents, deputies responded to a home on Fourth Street in Platte City on Friday, Oct. 4 about a sexual offense. A 16-year-old boy told parents that he had a sexual relationship with King. They met at a downtown business and began to text one another. In August, King followed the boy to his parents’ home where she went inside. They talked and eventually had sex in his bedroom. The relationship continued for four or five encounters until Monday, Sept. 30. The next day she texted the boy, and then a few days later allegedly showed up at the residence and pounded on the door.

When the boy wouldn’t let her inside, she eventually left, but the boy told his parents because he felt the situation was out of control. On Oct. 4, King came to the house again and confronted the boy’s parents. During the argument, one parent called 911 and the other began recording the interaction on a phone. When asked if she had sex with their son, King admitted she had.

Platte City Police arrived and defused the situation, identifying King as the suspect. She was taken into custody the next day and admitted she had sex with the boy. She said she knew his age was a problem and that she felt embarrassed and ashamed of her actions.

King’s 13-year-old daughter, Viktoria King, died by suicide in June. She was a student at Platte City Middle School.
