Suspects took beer, Gatorade in armed robbery of Trex Mart

According to reports, at least one suspect was in custody Tuesday, Oct. 31 in Buchanan County with a possible connection to two gas station robberies.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, a suspect allegedly stole cigarettes from the Farris Truck Stop in Faucett, Mo., located off Highway DD. According to media reports, a clerk went after the armed suspect, who then fired at least four shots.

The clerk sustained injuries after at least one of the bullets shattered glass.

At about 11:30 p.m., two white males — at least one armed — were reported to have entered the Dearborn Trex Mart located off Interstate 29 at Highway Z. Reports from that incident indicate shots were fired into the air, but no one was harmed.

The men allegedly stole beer and Gatorade from the store and then fled north.

According to a statement from Buchanan County sheriff Bill Puett to the St. Joseph News-Press, a suspect in custody is under investigation for the robbery in Faucett, but Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department investigators are working with the Platte County Sheriff’s Office to determine if the suspect is responsible for the Dearborn robbery as well.

The Citizen didn’t receive a response from local authorities when asked for more information about the incident in Dearborn.
