KANSAS CITY – When Platte County and Park Hill matched up at Tiffany Greens Golf Course, the Trojans came out with the victory on April 17.
Park Hill scored 157 and Platte County had 176 as the Trojans had four of the top-5 individual finishers. Park Hill senior Ethan Howell was the champion on the day.
Platte County’s Braden Hendee was the runner-up with the next three finishers being Trojans. Zach Cato, John King and Gavin Schaag wrapped up the top-5 to help Park Hill win.
“We’re pleased with how we are progressing at this point in the season,” Platte County head golf coach Trevor Short said. “We knew that there were going to be some growing pains and that it would take some time to settle into the season, but we’re excited about the efforts by the players.”
Josh Knickman shot a 42, followed by Even Sedlacek with 45 strokes and Brayden Renno with 47 strokes. Josh Gentilia ended the day with 52 strokes.
“They’re putting a lot of hard work into improving every day and making the necessary adjustments to get better. We’re nearing the postseason events so we will need to be at the top of our game when the time arrives,” Short said.
