The Trojans were unable to be David when they took on Goliath as the Park Hill football team (4-4) fell short on the road against Lee’s Summit North (7-1) 38-0 on Oct. 15.
The Broncos showed why they only had one loss on the season prior to the matchup with the Trojans as Lee’s Summit North scored 31 unanswered points in the opening half. Park Hill’s offense struggled all night, only gaining 110 total yards of offense.
The Broncos added another score in the second half, while the Trojans were unable to get any points on the scoreboard for the first time since 2013. With the postseason right around the corner, the loss puts Park Hill in fifth place in the Class 6 District 4 Tournament.
Trojan quarterback Kedrick Bell completed 17 of his 28 passes for 90 yards and rushed six times for 22 yards. P.J. Caldwell had five receptions for 32 yards, Jake Powell finished with four catches for 29 yards and James Noel brought in five receptions for 20 yards.
After losing the season opener, Park Hill had a four-game win streak, but it has now lost three straight contests. The Trojans will enter the final game of the regular season against Raymore-Peculiar (6-2) on Oct. 22 at Park Hill District Stadium.
