Two injured in accident on I-29

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Friday, July 12 on Interstate 29 at mile marker 10.


According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two vehicles were driving southbound on I-29 when a 2006 Honda driven by Frank Delaray, 46, of Kansas City, was slowing for traffic congestion.


A 2010 Lincoln driven by Gemechis R. Bayisa, 24, of Kansas City, Mo., struck the rear of Delaray’s vehicle.


Passengers in Delaray’s vehicle were injured in the crash. Eric Deronvil, 66, of Independence, Mo., and Rose Desir, 54, of Kansas City, both sustained minor injuries. Each were transported for St. Luke’s Northland Hospital.



MSHP ARRESTS IN PLATTE COUNTY

  • LaQuisha D. White, 33, of Kansas City, was arrested for driving while suspended, driving without insurance, failure to display valid plates on July 8.

  • Lena M. Johnson, 26, of Kansas City, was arrested for possession of marijuana, no operable tail lamps, driving without insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia on July 10.

  • Lester H. Daniel, 47, of Kansas City, was arrested on a felony warrant and misdemeanor warrant from Jackson County on July 11.

  • Aurora J. Livengood, 26, of Kansas City, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving in the wrong direction on a highway involving a crash on July 12.

  • Shea D. Henry, 26, of Blue Springs, was arrested for resisting arrest on July 14.

  • Amanda L. Vanzant, 27, of Kansas City, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance (heroin), leaving the scene of an accident, driving without insurance, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident and possession of drug paraphernalia.
