Man killed during FBI operation

A Platte County resident died during the execution of a federal search warrant on Monday.

According to the FBI, on Monday, Nov. 25, the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force was executing a federal search warrant issued from the Western District of Missouri in the 3000 block of NW 73rd St., Kansas City.

Law enforcement announced and knocked with no response. Law enforcement entered the residence and encountered an armed subject, who was injured and pronounced dead on scene.

According to media reports, residents in the area heard nearly 10 shots fired during the encounter.

The FBI is reviewing this agent-involved shooting. The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving it agents or task force members seriously. In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division.
