The Parkville community celebrated the opening of the new Westlake ACE Hardware last week with a unique hardware twist — a board cutting ceremony.
Parkville mayor Nan Johnston along with representatives from the Parkville Chamber of Commerce and Westlake ACE Hardware president Joe Jeffries spoke at the Friday, Jan. 25 event.
“Parkville is such a vibrant community and being back in Platte County after a few year absence with a store in the area is very exciting for us,” Jeffries said. “Joining the Parkville community allows us to deepen our relationship with customers in the greater Kansas City metro area and show them how we live the Ace Helpful Promise every day by delivering reliable service, helpful advice and products to help customers get their projects done right.”
The new store is the 23rd in the Kansas City metro area and is located at 9200 Highway 45. It has a 12,000 square foot sales floor and features traditional hardware products such as fasteners, tools, plumbing and electric supplies and paint — as well as lawn and garden supplies, kitchenware, pet products and BBQ products from Big Green Egg, Pit Barrel Cooker Co., Traeger and Weber.
The Parkville location of Westlake ACE Hardware is partnering with Feed Northland Kids, a local non-profit organization focused on addressing weekend nutrition and hunger by providing healthy, kid-friendly foods for school-age children living in the Northland Feed Northland Kids will receive the profits from select Parkville branded t-shirts and hats sold at the Parkville location.
A public grand opening celebration was held Saturday, Jan. 26, with a live chainsaw wood carving demo, adoptions from the Parkville Animal Shelter, family activities, food, samples, drawings and more.
