Weston branch MCPL closes due to COVID exposure

Mid-Continent Public Library’s Weston branch (18204 Library Drive, Weston) closed Tuesday, Dec. 1 due to potential COVID-19 exposure. The closure is until further notice.

The Weston branch joins other Platte County branches closed recently due to COVID, including the Camden Point, Dearborn and Edgerton branches. The Parkville branch is closed due to construction work.

The Weston branch was closed when a staff member was confirmed positive for the virus Dec. 1. The library is notifying customers who were in the branch Nov. 23-24.

All library staff who were potentially exposed will be screened and closely monitored before returning to work. Professional deep cleaning services will take place during the closure.

The library is working closely with the Platte County Health Department to determine all necessary and additional next steps. An announcement will be made when curbside services resume.
