Platte Woods is getting a little more rhythm on its streets now that Woulfe Music has been approved for business.
Micah Woulfe approached the council last week during Platte Woods October board of aldermen meeting asking for permission to run his private music lessons business in the town. Having studied in London, Woulfe Music promises private lessons for a variety of students with different talents.
While Woulfe will not be around outside with his performances too often, Platte Woods residents can expect to see him from time to time for events after further discussion with the board of aldermen.
Other news from the meeting brought an update on the Imeson Park house which has already received its new roof and is in the process of having its interior changes finished. Though plans have been postponed for a little while due to the finding of a small amount of water damage, the park will now be receiving a handicap accessible bathroom. The hope is for everything to be finished by the end of this month, though the changes could bleed into November.
Residents also brought up the problems presented by fallen trees, an issue board of aldermen says is being looked into. To help remedy the situation, mayor John Smedley asks residents to report fallen trees when they are seen, so that the city is at least made aware of the nuisance.
Dudley Construction will work on Maple Lane, Oak Ridge, and other roads “whenever the weather is good.”
Platte Woods also approved a three-year agreement with WCA Waste Collection.
