The second in the North Platte Historical Museum’s Steve Goodlet Memorial Lecture series will be “Educating Our Daughters, Camden Point Female Academy and Orphan School” on Sunday, Feb. 23.
The presentation will be at the Camden Point Firehouse, 301 Camden Street, with a fund raiser dinner at 5 p.m. The presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Input and photos of these schools to add to the collection are welcomed.
The menu consists of pork tenderloin, cheesy potatoes, green beans and dessert. There is no charge for the meal or presentation. Donations welcomed.
The North Platte Historical Museum and Cultural Center is sponsoring this program in partnership with the Missouri Humanities Council and with support from the Missouri Humanities Trust Fund. Missouri Humanities provided a $1,000 grant to the museum to purchase equipment to record the 2025 lecture series for the archives and public dissemination.
